AMA Behavioral Therapy, PLLC welcomes Febe Fernandez, LPC! Febe was born in Monterrey, Mexico where she spent the majority of my childhood.  Close to her teen years, she had the great opportunity to live and study in the U.S. where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology at West Texas A&M University on 2012 and 2014 respectively.  When asked on  her approach to therapy, here is her response: As a therapist, I like to build a strong non-judgmental relationship with patients in order to encourage safety and the comfort needed to explore and resolve the life struggles that have led you to counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to pin down problem areas in thinking that ultimately affect our relationships, self-worth, and perspective in an unhealthy way. I work towards assisting individuals towards their own therapeutic goals in a structured manner that aims at efficiently providing tools and the knowledge necessary to overcome current and future life stressors.

AMA Behavioral Therapy welcomes D. Michelle Ruiz-Deal, LPC.  "I believe that each person is doing the best that they can now; however, sometimes they need new tools to be even better.  I am a firm believer that you, the client, have the most knowledge about yourself, and I see my role as a facilitator to help you finding resolution for your major issues. Sometimes I will help you process, other times provide coaching, and other times give you new tools, but in every case, I will never judge you. I will, also, help you to let go of the judgments that you impose on yourself. In my opinion, the strength of the partnership that you and I form will be the biggest indicator of change for you.  The combination of training and experience has prepared me to work with anxiety, PTSD, depression, LGBTQ issues, veteran issues, substance abuse, and major mental illnesses. I come from a background of CBT, which focuses on reframing thoughts and DBT where we leverage your strengths and develop better emotional control and communication skills, and crisis management.  I have been training in Prolonged Exposure for PTSD for combat, noncombat and sexual trauma.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from Florida State University and Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M San Antonio. In addition, I am a native speaker of Spanish, and have an understanding of the military life gained from life as a dependent. My unique background has prepared me to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.

AMA Behavioral Therapy, PLLC would like to introduce Deborah Saldana, LPC!

As a former teacher and school counselor, my focus as a professional counselor is on helping children and adolescents navigate the sometimes difficult and painful challenges they face. Childhood issues such as divorce, loss, bullying, anxiety, and behavioral concerns are just a handful of tough issues our children encounter. I typically use an integrative perspective; utilizing cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, play therapy and expressive arts therapy in the counseling sessions.

I have worked with children and families and strive to help clients achieve a more positive place in their lives. I enjoy counseling individuals of all ages, specializing with children and adolescents. In addition, I offer services in Spanish and I have evening/weekend appointments available.
